TU Dortmund is supporting the 6GEMcubator, which is a spin-off of the 6GEM research hub and is dedicated to 6G-related start-ups.
It was a great pleasure for Christian Wietfeld and Stefan Böcker from CNI to be part of the 6GEMcubator at the launch event (March 21/22, 2024) of the new StartUpConnect funding program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Berlin (BMBF). Together with our colleague from tu concept (Viktoria Kessler) and colleagues from Aachen (Haris Gačanin, Tobias Recker) and Bochum (Aydin Sezgin), the 6GEMcubator presented itself and first startups.
The BMBF-funded StartUpConnect supports young teams at four locations in the implementation of research results in the field of modern communication systems in high-performance applications and companies. The funding measure thus makes a sustainable contribution to Germany's digital sovereignty.
The 6GEMcubator, with locations in Aachen and the Ruhr region, is the central point of contact for StartUpConnect in North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond. The 6GEMcubator project includes RWTH Innovation (RWTH Aachen University), Cube 5 (Ruhr University Bochum), TU concept GmbH (Dortmund University of Technology) and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
In addition to the 6GEMcubator, these specialized start-up incubators are part of StartUpConnect:
➡ xG-Incubator at 6G-RIC Research and Innovation Cluster
➡ LaunchHub42
