Keynote, recent CNI work and demo presented at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2024

At this year's EuCNC & 6G Summit, several CNI activities were highlighted. Firstly, Prof. Wietfeld presented the chair's current research projects on future 6G multi-radio technology environments as part of a keynote speech at the International Workshop on Holistic 6G Radio Design. Furthermore, the contents of the paper "Empowering 6G Industrial Indoor Networks: Hands-On Evaluation of IRS-enabled Multi-User mmWave Connectivity" were presented by Marco Danger. In this work, among other results, HELIOS reflectors were used to improve the performance of a commercial mmWave network in challenging Obstructed Line-of Sight (OLOS) and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) conditions seamlessly and without any additional energy consumption through a Beyond LOS (BLOS) link. These results were complemented by a well-received demo as part of the 6G Platform Germany booth including a video and several HELIOS exhibits. In conversations with colleagues from industry and research, the results were discussed in more detail.
