Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), VICTOR6G explores innovative network solutions for the Industrial Metaverse. The project aims to develop an adaptive, multidimensional 6G network that integrates wireless and wired components such as Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and edge computing. Through AI-based control systems, these networks will be designed to operate efficiently and deliver high performance.
The ComNets team at TU Dortmund University focuses on the quantitative performance evaluation of 6G technologies using simulations as well as experimental lab and field tests. Key aspects include scalability analysis and identifying system limits. The results will serve as references for industrial metaverse applications and form the basis for optimization strategies. Furthermore, ComNets Dortmund contributes to advancing distributed KPI monitoring and control mechanisms, particularly with regard to FR3 spectrum usage and latency-critical communication. Complementing this effort is the design and evaluation of adaptive radio resource management methods across frequency ranges FR1 to FR3, enabling industrial networks to flexibly adapt to changing requirements and environmental conditions. Through these contributions, TU Dortmund plays a key role in integrating 6G into industrial production environments and driving forward the realization of the Industrial Metaverse.
