Head of the Communication Networks Institute Christian Wietfeld (2nd from right) presents NRW Minister of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy Mona Neubaur (2nd from left) the results of scaled 5G campus networks for concentrated solar power (CSP) plants.
CNI presented an overview of the experimental and simulative research of the 5hine project to NRW Minister of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy Mona Neubaur during the joint on-site demonstration at our project partner German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt – DLR).

We were able to present NRW Minister Mona Neubaur the challenges of high-scaled 5G networks with mixed-critical applications, as it can be found in CSP plants, alongside network and application optimizations with network slicing and model predictive data rate optimizations to provide high service quality in worst case scenarios and ensure stable operation of CSP plants.
